Watch and learn why CIS and the students of Kalamazoo need you to "Promise Me."
In the United States, 1 in 5 high school students do not graduate on time or at all. In Michigan, that percentage rises to 1 in 4 students. There are an estimated 40,244 students in Michigan who will fail to graduate high school this year. Of those who do successfully graduate, many are not college-ready or employment-ready. Communities In Schools of Kalamazoo (CIS) was established to be part of the solution.
CIS works with the schools to remove the substantial barriers which stand between disadvantaged children and their success throughout their thirteen-plus years of school. CIS works to address the academic and basic developmental needs of students by connecting existing community resources to students at school.
We want all children to be ready to learn at school, and we need your help.
If you think that it's important for every child to graduate from high school on time and prepared for post-secondary education and employment, please give us your support.
